Social Justice in Equine Assisted Therapy

Social justice is a guiding principle in my approach to equine-assisted therapy, ensuring that the work honors the dignity, rights, and autonomy of all beings involved. This includes fostering equitable access to therapeutic services, challenging systemic oppression, and recognizing the unique lived experiences of clients. Equally, it means approaching the horses as partners in the healing process, respecting their well-being, preferences, and natural behaviors. By integrating social justice values, I aim to create a safe, inclusive space where clients can explore growth and healing while nurturing a deeper connection to themselves, others, and the natural world.
